SellFM sign too subtle

This was the first stab at the signage for SELLFM.

A little too subtle was the general opinion.

Sell FM is in trials

This weekend we had the second version of the sellFM transmitter in action.

We'd redesigned the signs to be a little more visible and explanatory as the feedback that we'd gotten was that people didn't understand that there was actually a message about THAT house.. .they thought it was an actual radio station where they'd have to listen to a whole bunch of ads about houses before getting to that one.

Of course, we were only hearing from people that didn't get it, presumably people that did heard it and drove on and we don't know what their reaction is.

I think the sign is a little TOO big and needs to come down to somewhere between the two. Still a topper sign, but not as small as the first version we did.

Welcome to Netvibes' Developers Network

Welcome to Netvibes' Developers Network: "UWA is the new Netvibes API. Through it, your Netvibes widgets will be available on every widget platforms or blog systems: Netvibes of course, but also Google IG, Apple Dashboard and many more...

This is the definitive place to get aquainted with the Universal Widget API (UWA) from Netvibes, and start building widgets. Get started now!"

-----------------------------

FINALLY!!!

Is it me? or is this way overdue?

XML is supposed to be the great data unifier and yet as developers we have to chase each of the platform specific markets (i say platform specific, as that's now evolved beyond simply what chip set you're using, to what API's and webtop OS you're subscribing too).

BIG THUMBS UP to netvibes for once again pulling ahead in the personalized web space "space".

I know we'll be taking a good hard look at this for some of our applications both for smRty and for XLsuite.

Cisco to Buy WebEx for $2.9B

Cisco to Buy WebEx for $2.9B: "NEW YORK (Reuters)—Cisco Systems said it will buy online videoconferencing company WebEx Communications for $2.9 billion as part of a strategy to sell comprehensive packages of communication products."

Well, I commented on their munching up TRIBE networks, it would appear that their takeover path of social networking sites is not over yet.

While I wouldn't call WebEX a social networking site, it's definately a network and delivers them a PILE of eyeballs right away.

Interesting moves, I wonder who will be next in the takeover lane.

ning.com ? maybe squidoo?

Review my PAY PER POST video

blog marketing

OK, I know that I've posted about these guys before, but I just think the idea is so cool that I made a video showing you how it works.

Have you seen those captasia video's that have the PIP screen and you can see what the person is doing on screen? That's the one. If you can't figure out how to do this after watching my video, then by all means you should probably get a rocking chair and retire to a nice, low tech retirement home, you're just not ready for the internet age.

I'm going to do a whole series of these videos on ways to make some easy money online and of course the first one that I had to review was Pay Per Post. A close second was Rent a coder, I'll tell you more about that in another post.

I've posted it on our main site, it's called "Make Money With Pay Per Post" and it's a screen capture with video.

The URL is : http://ixld.com/training/payperpost/payperpost.html

If you have any questions about how to do things, what sort of posts you need to do, or even what a blog is, don't hesitate to drop me a line in the comments below, or through my site IXLD Media Inc I'll be happy to get you going in this exciting opportunity.

If you're blogging for your business, this is an excellent way to pepper in some extra content for your blog, and of course if you're just blogging for fun, it's time that you start to think about blogging for money instead.

This video will show you how it all works and save you the time of setting up an account and learning how the system works on your own. Once you've seen the site, you can then decide if it's write (ha ha) for you or not.

My only complaint about them is that there are not a lot of opportunities for lower page ranking blogs, if you're not a PR4/5 or more, you've really got only a few options to choose from. But I guess that makes sense, nobody wants to pay for promo on a low ranking site, there's no linking value to it.

Take a look at the video, I know you'll like it soooo much :) that you'll use this link to sign up and make us both a few bucks in cash from posting about ... you know... STUFF!!!

NY Times article about Cisco buying into Social Networking

SAN FRANCISCO, March 2 — Next week Cisco Systems, a Silicon Valley heavyweight, plans to announce one of its most unusual deals: it is buying the technology assets of Tribe.net, a mostly forgotten social networking site, according to people close to the companies’ discussions.

This is an interesting move for Cisco, when have hardware makers ever excelled at software? It'll be interesting to see where this goes and if they can parlay this into a real service, or if it'll be so much hot air in the end.

Social networking to me sounds like the ".com" of the 2.0 age. So much hype, not enough profits. Not to say that myspace and youtube haven't made a few bucks, but really... does Nike really hope to attract us to start blogging on their site? Doens't it realize that it'll have to pay me to come blog for them and then no one would be interested in what they had to say (except maybe the odd 16 year old).

Social Networking for business? I guess LinkedIN would be the market leader there, why didn't they buy them. MAYBE I could see that going somewhere... but really, a bunch of old code from some ravers?

Download Rubyonrails, and set up your own in less time with better features - not that I know what they had, I'm totally blowing smoke out my ass, it's just the whole thing sounds so.... Fluff
