This was the first stab at the signage for SELLFM.

A little too subtle was the general opinion.

This weekend we had the second version of the sellFM transmitter in action.

We'd redesigned the signs to be a little more visible and explanatory as the feedback that we'd gotten was that people didn't understand that there was actually a message about THAT house.. .they thought it was an actual radio station where they'd have to listen to a whole bunch of ads about houses before getting to that one.

Of course, we were only hearing from people that didn't get it, presumably people that did heard it and drove on and we don't know what their reaction is.

I think the sign is a little TOO big and needs to come down to somewhere between the two. Still a topper sign, but not as small as the first version we did.

Is it me? or is this way overdue?

XML is supposed to be the great data unifier and yet as developers we have to chase each of the platform specific markets (i say platform specific, as that's now evolved beyond simply what chip set you're using, to what API's and webtop OS you're subscribing too).

BIG THUMBS UP to netvibes for once again pulling ahead in the personalized web space "space".

I know we'll be taking a good hard look at this for some of our applications both for smRty and for XLsuite.

Cisco to Buy WebEx for $2.9B: "NEW YORK (Reuters)—Cisco Systems said it will buy online videoconferencing company WebEx Communications for $2.9 billion as part of a strategy to sell comprehensive packages of communication products."

Well, I commented on their munching up TRIBE networks, it would appear that their takeover path of social networking sites is not over yet.

While I wouldn't call WebEX a social networking site, it's definately a network and delivers them a PILE of eyeballs right away.

Interesting moves, I wonder who will be next in the takeover lane.
